Monika Cicolella was trained to Chinese ink painting in Shanghai. Combining her Western influences with Asian aesthetics, she offers a joyful and luminous painting, pulsating with energy. She draws her inspiration from her encounters with trees around the world as well as from the gardens of writers, artists and philosophers, and expresses her deep attachment to Nature through portraits of semiabstract and colorful trees, both poetic and energetic.
